AI Solutions Consultant, Sales Ops

The role

Summer Friday redesigns how organizations work with AI. Our clients are product, sales, marketing, and/or operations teams, usually with a set of AI goals and organizational ambitions to fill.

You are the lead solutions consultant on the engagement, working alongside a principal / partner and engineering lead. You help run discovery, decide what is worth building, design the solution with the client’s existing technology ecosystem in mind, and collaborate with our engineering team to build demos, proof-of-concepts or production-ready AI-driven workflows.

Every engagement opens with discovery. You sit with the people who do the work and map how it moves from first contact to final report: who touches each step, which system it lives in, and where it breaks. You map out processes and draw the current state and the future state.

You write the business rules and the workflow specification, test what the engineers ship with the people who will use it, and adjust the design when the client's systems behave differently than the documentation said they would. Engagements end with a readout and a handoff to the client's internal team.

You are naturally curious about experimenting and building with AI. You understand the fundamentals of prompt and context engineering, and are familiar with common architectures for building agents and automations. You can design systems understanding where AI can augment versus where human judgement is needed.

What you will do

• •Run structured discovery sessions with end users and turn them into task-level current-state and future-state workflow maps
• •Identify and prioritize use cases by value, feasibility, and coverage against the client's stated goals, and make the case for the ones we build first
• •Design solutions against the client's existing stack: which step is a rule, which needs a model, where the context lives, and which system is the source of truth
• •Write the business rules, edge cases, and acceptance criteria the engineering team builds from, and review what they ship against them
• •Test prototypes with the people who will use them and bring what breaks back into the design
• •Present to client sponsors, run demos and feedback loops, and write the discovery readout and the final architecture document
• •Work with the team using AI agents: reading the repo, writing context files and specs, and configuring agents when a change is faster to make than to describe

What we are looking for

• •6+ years in product management, forward-deployed consulting, solutions architecture, or operations design with direct ownership of project stakeholders. Boutique, high-growth SaaS, Big 4 Consulting, or vendor-side solutions consulting all count
• •You have designed at least one AI workflow or agent that real people used in their actual work, and you can explain what it replaced and the ROI
• •A systems mindset: when you see a broken process, your first question is which system the data should live in, and your second is who has to change what they do
• •Working fluency in current AI patterns: context engineering, tool use, agent orchestration, retrieval, and the failure modes of each.
• •Experience with sales, deal, or revenue operations teams is a plus. Media and advertising operations is a strong plus: IOs, order management systems, ad servers such as Google Ad Manager, pacing, and reporting.
• •Comfortable in Claude Code or Codex and GitHub. You do not need to be an engineer. You need to be able to read from a repo, write a spec an engineer can build from, and tell when the build drifted from it
• •Available for a part-time fractional schedule that runs heavier in discovery and lighter in the build
